This is the first time I’ve been depressed to keep a job. Heck I remember being temporarily depressed when the zoo gave me fair warning about having to leave, but this is a whole other experience. I’m surrounded by management who have taken my workload away from me, the same way they did our senior, and left me with entry level templated grunt work. I have to remind myself of the positives, but as someone who keeps it real, it’s hard to be under the rule of the fake. I’m not good at “playing the game” for years and kissing butt just to make another man happy, especially when people already have a preconceived notion about me. I’m not good at pretending to be someone’s friend when we both know they’re actively going out of their way to stunt my growth / force me out the house. I never planned on staying here longer than 4-5 years to begin with, but at this rate, I’ll be lucky if I can last one more for a solid 3. I have to remind myself of the positives:
you still have a job,
you still make money,
you can still go to school,
you don’t work weekends.
Most importantly, no man has control over the fate of another — it’s all God’s plan.
